Nosotros sabemos que los discípulos contaron historias donde ellos mismos no eran presentados como personas ejemplares, muy diferente a las historias modernas. We know that Jesus appeared to his disciples after his death, they told the incredible but true story. History of what they saw and heard, and in the case of Thomas, of what he touched, the resurrected body of the teacher. With that story they went worldwide, without resources, without education, without fear to preach about what they had witnessed. Por esa historia salieron a todo el mundo, sin recursos, sin educación, sin miedo a predicar de lo que habían sido testigos. Ellos todos enfrentaron la muerte con dolor si, pero convencidos de que las promesas de Jesús eran ciertas. y por que nosotros hemos decidido que ellos nos cuenta la verdad. In the Gospel of John we now have the incredible but true a story of the resurrection of Lazarus. And the text tells us that Jesus wept, wept at the pain of separation, he did not try to explain what had happened, it was just moved in his core. El sabia cuanto Marta y María necesitaban y querían a su hermano y lo llamó de la tumba ¡Lázaro, sal! . This Sunday is All Saints and tomorrow is All Souls Day. The calendar of the Church tells us that both the living and the dead are forever intertwined. In American culture, influenced by behaviorism people always advise the grieving survivors to put behind his/her experience death and loss and move on. Hispanics know that the dead, our dead live with us forever, that both those in heaven who are enjoying the beatific vision of the Creator as those who both suffer and enjoy life here, we are united by ties of love that do not break. Moreover that Christians believe in the victory of life over death in Christ and the apostles first and then all those who followed them and suffered for the name of Jesus, and pay with their lives testify to the truth of those promises. Este domingo es dia de Todos los Santos y mañana sera día de los Fieles Difuntos. El calendario de la Iglesia nos dice que tanto los vivos como los muertos están unidos para siempre. En la cultura americana, influenciada por la sicología de la conducta siempre la gente aconseja al doliente sobreviviente a dejar detrás su experiencia de muerte y seguir viviendo. Los hispanos sabemos que los muertos, nuestros muertos viven con nosotros para siempre, que tanto los que en el cielo se gozan de la visión beatifica del Creador como los que aquí sufrimos y gozamos la vida estamos unidos por lazos de amor que no se rompen. Mas aun, que los cristianos creemos en la victoria de la Vida sobre la muerte en Cristo y que los apóstoles primero y después todos aquellos que le siguieron y sufrieron por el nombre de Jesus dan testimonio con sus vidas de la verdad de esas promesas. Jesús le dice a Marta hermana de Lazaro y no dice a nosotros hoy dia: Yo soy la resurrección y la vida; el que cree en mí, aunque muera, vivirá, y todo el que vive y cree en mí, no morirá jamás. ¿Crees esto?
