| David Alaverdian David was born in Chimkent, Soviet Union (now
Kazakhstan) and started playing and improvising music at the age of
five. Having completed 5 years of musical training at Uspensky School
for Gifted Children in Tashkent, Soviet Union (now Uzbekistan), he
moved with his family to the United States in 1994. After a brief stint
in the New York City Subways, which garnered him an article in the New
York Times, David was introduced to concert pianist Seymour Lipkin with
whom he studied at the Juilliard School from 1997 to 2005, where he
received his Bachelor’s Degree. There, David won many prizes including
a 1998 Contemporary Honors Recital Award playing Shostakovich, and a
First Prize at the 2000 Chopin Piano Concerto Competition. David has
also been broadcast on NPR and KZSU.
David is currently working on his Master's degree at Manhattan School
of Music under the tutelage of a renowned concert pianist, Andre-Michel
Schub. He is interested in composition and other media and is majoring
in a Computer Engineering program at City College of NYC |
Martin Balik studied at the Classical Music Conservatory in
Argentina. He devoted almost 10 years to his studies. In order to
perfect his musicianship he also studied at the San Martin Conservatory
of Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music. He also studied with the best
masters of tango and jazz in Argentina: Enrique Andreola, Dinah Galvan,
Omar Moreno, Alejandro Correa and Hernan Merlo.
Martin was part of the Concertango quintet for three years. With the
quintet, he participated in various festivals in Argentina, winning the
Tango prize at the "pre-cosquin" festival. Buster Williams and Pedro
Aznar can be listed among Martin's mentors.

Anna Noggle made her operatic debut in 2003 appearing as the
Queen of the Night in Mozart's celebrated work, The Magic Flute at the
Hot Springs Music Festival in Hot Springs, Arkansas under the baton of
Richard Rosenberg. She has since appeared internationally twice as
Contessa Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Rome Festival
in Rome, Italy and again as the Queen of the Night at the International
Opera Workshop held in Bourgas, Bulgaria. Ms. Noggle also appeared as
Sarah in Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe and in numerous studio and
ensemble pieces performed at Indiana University's prestigious School of
Music.

Arthur Durant III Born and raised in the Bronx, New York on November 11, 1958 Started to play piano at age 6. At age 10 fell in love with drums. Continued to study drums and in Junior High School traveled to England with school jazz band that was sponsored by Mayor Beame administration. In high school, I did extensive training with drum and Bugle Corps and traveled and competed with other drum corp organizations throughout New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New England, and various other states. These organizations are called DCI, Drum Corp International. I also performed and played in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Radio City Music Hall, St. Peters Church with Bronx Community College Jazz Band. Continued studying at Drummers Collective in manhattan with well known percussionists and performers. While growing up in a diverse area in the Bronx, in the late 60's up until the middle 90's, I would play out in the street and at city parks and beaches with other percussionists. I would take my congas and timbales and would jam for hours on end, until law enforcement would reluctantly tell us to leave. Presently, I am fortunate to be working with Father Juan and his church band which is an inspiration to me. |
