Ministries
Bible Study
Our Bible Study is a welcoming space to grow in faith, deepen your understanding of Scripture, and share in meaningful conversation. Led by Fr. Carlos Tamayo, this weekly gathering takes place every Wednesday via Zoom, making it accessible to all. Together, participants reflect on the Sunday readings and other passages of the Bible, exploring how God’s Word speaks to our daily lives. Whether you are new to Scripture or have studied it for years, all are invited to join, ask questions, and grow spiritually in a supportive community.
Community Dinner
Since 2019, our Wednesday Community Dinner has been a cornerstone of outreach at the Church of the Redeemer. This ministry is led by two dedicated members of our parish: Yolanda Jimenez and Cristina Acevedo.
Each week, they lovingly prepare and serve hot, fresh, home-cooked meals to anyone who wishes to join. A typical meal includes meat, rice or pasta, salad, coffee, and beverages.
From January through December 2025, we served approximately 1,938 meals to more than 800 individuals across 34 gatherings.
More than just a meal, this ministry fosters community, dignity, and connection, offering a place where all are welcome at the table.
Godly Play
Godly Play is a creative and engaging children’s ministry that nurtures faith through storytelling, play, and hands-on activities. Led by Sarah Jonker-Burke and Duane Jonker-Burke, who have faithfully served this parish for over 20 years. This program helps children explore their relationship with God in a joyful and meaningful way.
Through Bible stories, wonder questions, and crafts, children are invited to discover the richness of faith at their own pace in a safe and welcoming environment. Godly Play takes place every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
This ministry supports children in building a lifelong foundation of faith, curiosity, and spiritual growth.
